"The world’s richest 1% now own over 40% of ALL WORLD WEALTH. This is EVEN AFTER you account for all of this ‘good will’ ‘humanitarian’ BS from celebrities and executives. ITS A SHAM. As they get richer and richer, less wealth is left circulating beneath them. This is the single greatest underlying cause for the current US recession. The middle class can no longer afford to sustain their share of the economy. Their wealth has been gradually transfered to the richest 1%. One way or another, we suffer because of their incredible greed. We are talking about TRILLIONS of dollars. Transfered FROM US TO THEM. Over a period of about 27 years. Thats Reaganomics for you. The wealth does not ‘trickle down’ as we were told it would. It just accumulates at the top. Shrinking the middle class and expanding the lower class. Causing a domino effect of socio-economic problems. But the rich will never stop. They will never settle for a reasonable share of ANYTHING. They will do whatever it takes to get even richer. Leaving even less of the pie for the other 99% of us to share. At the same time, they throw back a few tax deductable crumbs and call themselves ‘humanitarians’.""The current US recession will drag on for years and lead into the worst US depression of all time. The richest 1% will live like royalty while the rest of us fight over jobs, food, and gasoline. Crime, poverty, and suicide will skyrocket. So don’t fall for all of this PR CRAP from Hollywood, Pro Sports, and Wall Street PIGS. ITS A SHAM. Remember: They are filthy rich EVEN AFTER their tax deductable contributions. Greedy pigs. Now, we are headed for the worst economic and cultural crisis of all time. SEND A “THANK YOU” NOTE TO YOUR FAVORITE MILLIONAIRE. ITS THEIR FAULT. I’m not discounting other factors like China, sub-prime, or gas prices. But all of those factors combined still pale in comparison to that HUGE transfer of wealth to the rich. Anyway, those other factors are all related and further aggrivated because of GREED. If it weren’t for the OBSCENE distribution of wealth within our country, there never would have been such a market for sub-prime to begin with. Which by the way, was another trick whipped up by greedy bankers and executives. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. The credit industry has been ENDORSED by people like Oprah, Ellen, Dr Phil, and many other celebrities. IT MAKES THEM RICHER. Now, there are commercial ties between nearly every industry and every public figure.""The richest 1% will soon tank the largest economy in the world. It will be like nothing we’ve ever seen before. and thats just the beginning. Greed will eventually tank every major economy in the world. Causing millions to suffer and die. Oprah, Angelina, Brad, Bono, and Bill are not part of the solution. They are part of the problem. EXTREME WEALTH HAS MADE WORLD PROSPERITY ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. WITHOUT WORLD PROSPERITY, THERE WILL NEVER BE WORLD PEACE OR ANYTHING EVEN CLOSE. GREED KILLS. IT WILL BE OUR DOWNFALL. Of course, the rich will throw a fit and call me a madman. Of course, their ignorant fans will do the same. You have to expect that. But I speak the truth. If you don’t believe me, then copy this entry and run it by any professor of economics or socio-economics. Then tell a friend. Call the local radio station. Re-post this entry or put it in your own words. Be one of the first to predict the worst economic and cultural crisis of all time and explain its cause. WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE."

Skillet Lasagna
The other day I created a new dish using a soup recipe but altering it a bit to make it thicker, since I wasn't in the mood for soup. The end result was fabulous and tastes similar to Hamburger Helper. If you decide to try it out, let me know what you think! I'll post a picture tonight.
Skillet Lasagna
1 lb hamburger
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 tsp minced garlic
1 can beef broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can Campbell's tomato soup
1/4 tsp parsley flakes
1/4 tsp italian seasoning (crushed)
2 cups uncooked pasta (I used a mini-lasagna noodle but corkscrew or penne would work)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Brown hamburger with onion and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat, drain fat. Stir in the broth, tomatoes, soup and seasonings and bring to a boil. Add pasta and simmer over medium heat, covered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Uncover and simmer an additional 5 minutes, or until pasta is tender. Stir in the cheese and serve. Garnish with additional cheese.
Very quick. Very easy. Very tasty!

Wow!
Well, we were sitting in the airport bar drinking Sam Adams, and we made friends with a couple people around us.. One, a gal who used to wait tables at Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor...(very cool) and also a lawyer from NYC. It was brought up how we are in the Air Force. When the guy from NYC left, he asked us to have a great time, and he left his business card and $200 bucks...and asked that we email him a good story from Dublin and he thanked us for serving... He insisted we take the money, much to our protest, and demanded we bought beers on him..
Very cool.
Seat belt sign on....off we go, later-
Wow! How awesome that another person truly valued what the servicemen and women do for him and this country and took the time to thank them. You don't have to lay down a couple hundered like he did, but even just a simple thank-you and a handshake would be more than enough. Thank you to all who serve (Matt) or have served (Dad) to keep this nation safe. You are my heroes.

Chocolate

I'm completely addicted. Up until 2 years ago I didn't even like chocolate and now my tongue begs for the creamy goodness of milk chocolate Lindt Excellence and Ferrero Rocher. Where have they been all my life?!Tuesday, January 6, 2009
Punching the Clock

The weather so far has been fabulous...well, my kind of fabulous anyway. The past two days have been gloomy (I love gloomy days) and around 50 degrees. It reminds me of Seattle and it brings back the wonderful memories of my time there. I miss those friends and hope I make some here that are even half as fabulous as those girls.

Large zero-entry pool with laplanes and water volleyball areaWelcome to Richmond, VA!

I thought this blog would be an easy way to share photos and keep you posted with what is going on here in Richmond. As you know, I moved here last week and will begin working as a Vascular Sonographer at Henrico Doctor's Hospital tomorrow. So far, I'm absolutely loving the area. The scenery is beautiful and I can already tell it will be hard not to get caught up in the history. I plan to take in all I can here in Richmond as well as the surrounding cities/states. Feel free to join me sometime!
Love to all,
Beks
