Wow!

I'm sure most of you have gotten the e-mail about the woman who bought box lunches on an airplane for all the military men on the flight or the story of a soldier who was thanked by a random person in line at a grocery store. They are touching stories and it's so nice that people thank the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe. Well, it's happened again and this time to my brother, Matt, and his friend Eric, both pilots in the Air National Guard. They had a layover in the Chigago O'Hare Int'l Airport on their way to Dublin for a little trip. This is the email I just got from him...


Well, we were sitting in the airport bar drinking Sam Adams, and we made friends with a couple people around us.. One, a gal who used to wait tables at Tides Tavern in Gig Harbor...(very cool) and also a lawyer from NYC. It was brought up how we are in the Air Force. When the guy from NYC left, he asked us to have a great time, and he left his business card and $200 bucks...and asked that we email him a good story from Dublin and he thanked us for serving... He insisted we take the money, much to our protest, and demanded we bought beers on him..

Very cool.

Wow! How awesome that another person truly valued what the servicemen and women do for him and this country and took the time to thank them. You don't have to lay down a couple hundered like he did, but even just a simple thank-you and a handshake would be more than enough. Thank you to all who serve (Matt) or have served (Dad) to keep this nation safe. You are my heroes.
